Merewether Uniting Church

We gather for worship each Sunday at 9 am, expressing our faith in contemporary language often in a traditional format.  We seek to be a spiritual home for whoever may join us, wherever you are on your faith journey. We welcome people visiting once, semi regularly or people looking for a spiritual home. We seek to be open to discussing 21st Century questions about life and faith, respecting and recognising we are all in different places on the journey of life and faith.

We are a compassionate community, diverse in our theology, views and opinions – we welcome people of all ages, racial backgrounds, married, divorced, single and diverse gender identities.

We are followers of Jesus whose values include community, service, participation of all people, diversity, social justice and the reconciliation and renewal of all creation. These commitments are lived out in The New Ways Stroke Group and The Community Kitchen (Merewether).

Children and young people are an important part of our community. Children are welcome and included in worship, The Community Kitchen (Merewether) and playgroup.

Music and singing is integral to our worship together.  The words we sing cause us to reflect on how we think of God and ourselves. We welcome the discussion that words used brings.

Our services include Scripture readings, a reflection, singing and prayers. Special services include Stroke Week Service, Social Justice Sunday, Christmas and Easter Services.
